I still wear a lot of my their items even though I am not pregnant anymore (and I’ll admit I wore a lot of their items even before I was pregnant). They don’t share a lot about sustainability or if their items are ethically produced, however since their pieces work for maternity and non-maternity I feel better purchasing since I will not discard them after a few months of wear.</image:caption>

<image:caption>3. Baby Bjorn Bouncer Bliss Speaking of bouncers, we have used this one since Benji was about 4 weeks old. When he was super little we used it on the lowest recline setting and bounced him with our hands or feet. Now that he is almost 3 months old, he loves to sit in it and bounce himself while playing with a toy. This bouncer is simple, lightweight, and fold-able which makes it perfect for our small space. Benji is a super gassy baby, so it also helps a ton with getting his gas out since it allows him to sit upright.</image:caption>

<image:caption>6. Toki Mats Playmat This one isn’t really important if your baby isn’t picky about harder surfaces. But Benji HATED doing tummy time on a less padded mat, and now he tolerates it on this super soft squishy mat. It’s reminds me of the old school folding gym mats, but much squishier. It folds up to a reasonable size for storage and the pattern selection is top notch. We spend a lot of our day laying around on the mat to make sure he has enough time to freely kick and squirm around. We also put his play gym on top of this mat since the mat it comes with is not very padded.</image:caption>

<image:caption>5. Solly Baby Wrap This photo is of us the day after we got back from the hospital. Benji was fussy after we’d tried everything, so I thought hmmm let’s try the wrap. He cried a bit the first few seconds he was in it but then calmed down and slept until I took him out. Fast forward 3 months and he still loves to be carried around, especially now that he has enough head control to look around. I also know now to keep the straps wide on my shoulders which makes it even more comfortable! We love to baby wear in our house so we also have a Wildbird linen ring sling and a Ergo Omni 360 carrier. However, if you’re only looking to get one carrier for the newborn stage I’d say based on comfort the Solly is the way to go. Then maybe upgrade to a structured carrier like the Ergo once baby is older. I do like the Wildbird ring sling and it is beautiful, but there’s something about the coziness of the Solly wrap that can’t be beat.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Coterie Diapers (photo by Coterie) Before having a baby of our own, I had shockingly never changed a diaper. So I thought a diaper is a diaper is a diaper. Boy was I wrong. We used Pampers in the hospital which worked great since my milk hadn’t come in yet and we only dealt with one or two poopy diapers total. Then alternated between Coterie and Honest Co once we got home. The Coterie diapers blew the other two brands out of the water. In terms of softness, fit, security, and protection I do not think these can be beat. They are more expensive but I can honestly say we’ve only had 1 blowout, no leaks, and no diaper rash in 12 weeks using these. We also use Coterie wipes which are fabulous as well, and this diaper cream after baths and before bed. **the link is my referral link, so you get $15 and I get $15 to spend at the site</image:caption>

<image:caption>2. Snuggle Me Organic Infant Lounger This thing is magic. The Snuggle Me Organic is the pillow lounger shown above. It does not come with or need a Moses basket but we use ours in one to keep some distance from the dogs. What makes the Snuggle Me different from other loungers is that it is stitched with an area that pulls the lounger in to “hug” your baby. This made the list because it is the only place (other than our arms) Benji will nap for longer than 20 minutes. We use a Snoo for night sleep, and he still naps 10x better in the Snuggle Me than the Snoo. I also used it to set him down as a tiny newborn when I needed to shower or run to the bathroom. It was a great stopgap before he was big enough to sit in a bouncer.</image:caption>

<image:caption>4. Hatch Rest+ Sound Machine This machine is on at least 12 hours a day in our house. It has a built in battery so we use it in the bedroom for night sleep, then move it to wherever Benji is napping during the day. It works through an app over WiFi which can be pretty buggy to be honest. However, the machine is modern, gets loud, and has a built in clock. So the positives outweigh the occasional glitch. We got this as a gift before Benji arrived and the white noise setting put my husband to sleep even better than it puts Benji to sleep now! Even if you don’t have a baby I recommend this for better sleep (also now they’ve released a version marketed for adults).</image:caption>

<image:caption>Tuesday - Rain rain go away. The plants are happy, the dogs are sad. Tank | Pants | Birks There’s a tropical storm today, lots of downed trees and power outages :( Love this nursing tank. It’s a dual layer design so it provided great coverage while looking like a normal shirt. These Everlane pants have been a staple in my postpartum wardrobe. I got them when I was only 8 weeks pp and the fabric was forgiving enough to allow the high waist to fit. As always my earrings are from Marjorie Baer. My ears aren’t pierced and she makes the coolest clip-ons!</image:caption>

Jacket (old Elizabeth Suzann) | Jeans | Nursing Tank I am so sad that Elizabeth Suzann as we’ve known it is gone due to COVID economic challenges. If you can snag any of her pieces secondhand, DO IT. I still have pieces from many years ago that have seen some heavy wear and still look great. Hoping this brand can rebuild and make a comeback in the years to come. Note on these Everlane Super Straight Jeans - I am 5’4” and wearing the ankle length.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Sunday - Started the day in a dress, ended up in shorts and a tee. The tee and shorts are both Levi’s. I got them during their warehouse sale so they are sold out now. The shorts are the High Rise 501 fit. The tee is awesome because it is a hemp blend fabric! Hemp uses less water and is naturally pest resistant so it is much more sustainable than cotton. The feel is similar to linen, and nope the hemp plant does not have any psychoactive effects. Hoping hemp becomes more mainstream soon since it is a really beautiful sustainable fiber.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Minimalist Guide to Maternity Clothes</image:title>
<image:caption>Maternity Jeans | Sweater (non-maternity, I just sized up) 38 weeks, homestretch! I feel like it wouldn’t be a list without including maternity denim. Maternity jeans come in both under and over the bump styles, and it’s totally personal preference what works for you. I personally liked over the bump styles since I felt more held in and supported. I bought these Madewell maternity jeans around 11 weeks, and just rolled the panel down under my mini-bump until midway through the 2nd trimester. I had two other pairs of ASOS maternity jeans, and ended up just wearing these the whole time. I would say just get one pair of maternity jeans unless you have maternity (or at least longer length) tops to go with them. I wore a jumpsuit or dress much more often to avoid coordinating tops and bottoms. **If you’re a working mama these Storq pants or Hatch pants would work great for the office along with a over-sized white button down.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Minimalist Guide to Maternity Clothes</image:title>
<image:caption>Silky Nursing Bra (photo by Negative Underwear) Let’s face it, almost everyone needs new bras at some point during pregnancy. Save money and your sanity by just buying a couple nursing bras in your pregnancy bra size. I wore my normal Everlane bralettes until the third trimester when I seemed to go up a few cup and band sizes overnight. I then ordered a couple nursing bras in my new size. I’ve stayed about the same size since I am still nursing. The above bra from Negative is beautiful thin and supportive mesh that isn’t frumpy like most nursing bras. If you’re anything like me though now’s the time to fully embrace the frump and comfort. Here’s my top picks for those: Pull Aside Nursing/Sleep Bra (this is one of the only crossover styles with adjustable straps I found) Pumping and Nursing Bra (you can pump or nurse in this bra without a wardrobe change) Organic Cotton Nursing Bra (organic cotton and is so cute with the little center bow)</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - Minimalist Guide to Maternity Clothes</image:title>
<image:caption>Tank | Leggings (both by Blanqi) 28 weeks! Ok, admittedly not the most exciting thing on the list. However, by the time you’re past the first trimester you may think support wear is the best thing ever invented. I had 2 sets of these tanks and leggings from Blanqi, and I wore at least the tank under my clothes most days. Both items have built in support through a front belly panel and back X seamed panel. During the early 2nd trimester when my bump looked more like bloat, these really helped round it out and make it look like that cute bump I’d always envisioned. The material of these is similar to that of Spanx, and in addition to smoothing my bump they kept my back from hurting even when I was walking over 5 miles around NYC everyday. In short, highly recommend these!</image:caption>

<image:caption>Skirt (old Grana, similar here and here) | Tee | Boots 23 weeks here. I wore this stretchy skirt with an over-sized tee so many times. Once it was really cold it looked super cute with an over-sized turtleneck sweater. This particular skirt is an old knit non-maternity skirt from Grana, but Boob design and Storq both have some great sustainable maternity options. Both linked above. Unfortunately I do not have any suggestions for maternity tights. I was always so hot when I was pregnant I just bare-legged it even through winter.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Jumpsuit | Boots | Glasses (old Warby Parker) 25 weeks in this photo. I would say I wore a black jumpsuit more often than not while pregnant. It’s a one and done look, easy to dress up or down, and depending on the cut can be worn both before and after pregnancy. This Hatch Collection jumpsuit was a real workhorse. It’s made from a stretchy jersey material and draped perfectly over my bump. I wore it with boots and statement earrings when I was still working in NYC, and then with sneakers and a beanie when I went back to grad school. I am currently nursing, so the back zipper doesn’t work for me, but once I am nursing less I look forward to wearing this again. It works without a bump too! Honorable mention to the Tradlands Finn Jumpsuit which I wore before, during, and after.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - What I Wore This Week - Aug 4</image:title>
<image:caption>Nursing Tank | Jacket and Pants both old Elizabeth Suzann Thursday - See told you I missed the boat on snapping outfit pics this week. Fast forward to Thursday! This one is nursing friendly. I spent a lot of Tuesday/Wednesday working on Benji’s eating, so I didn’t get dressed. I had some dairy which really upset his reflux and took awhile to get back on track. The tank is from Kindred Bravely, and is super supportive. While both the pants and jacket are old Elizabeth Suzann. COVID took a toll on Elizabeth Suzann, and I just got an email today about how she is planning on proceeding with the brand. I really hope they make a comeback as she makes some of my favorite clothing items I own!</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - What I Wore This Week - Aug 4</image:title>
<image:caption>Nursing Tank | Skirt (old Macy’s) | Shoes Friday - The weather could not have been more beautiful today, and I was feeling a little fancy after my 3 days of elastic waist pants. The tank is a nursing tank! It has a double layer design so it actually looks like a normal shirt instead of the obvious half layer nursing shirt. The skirt I found on a Macy’s sale rack over 6 years ago! I can’t believe I’ve kept it for so long, but it’s one of those once in a blue moon finds. I used be so lucky at finding great items on sale racks, but I just don’t shop as much as I used to and I order everything online now.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - What I Wore This Week - Aug 4</image:title>
<image:caption>Pajama Shirt (photo by Lunya) Sunday - Nope that’s not me in the photo, but I’ll spare you guys from me wearing these jammies and just give you the model photo instead. We did a marathon cleaning session today so I didn’t get dressed for Sunday like I usually do. I got a pair of these cooling PJs from Lunya for mother’s day, and they really do work! Too decadent to purchase for myself, but they were an amazing gift that gets a ton of wear.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blog - What I Wore This Week - Aug 4</image:title>
<image:caption>Top | Pants | Shoes Monday - Ok this one is not very nursing friendly, but anything can be a nursing shirt if you’re willing to show a little belly :) One thing I’ve really enjoyed lately is wearing a simple necklace! Benji loves to gently play with it while nursing. I know soon he’ll be strong enough that he can break my jewelry but I’ll keep soaking this up while I can. Both the top and pants are from Uzi NYC which is a great ethically made brand. Everything is produced right in Brooklyn! The shoes are old Dr Martens, but they still make this style. I remember showing up to dinner with a friend a few years ago, and accidentally wearing the exact same outfit (black top/pants, with these shoes).</image:caption>

<image:caption>Shirt | Jeans (wash no longer available, but Levi’s Wedgie fit) Saturday - What’s more nursing friendly than a button down shirt? We made up for the beautiful weather this week with a rainy day. Sneak peak of our living room refresh in this photo!</image:caption>
